Jesus Is the Way, the Truth, and the Life
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” When we truly know Him, we begin to understand the way because He is our way. He is the truth that anchors our soul, and He is the life that fulfills everything we are called to walk in.
There is such a beautiful order in this. Jesus is the way for our physical walk—our actions, direction, responses, and character. He is the truth for our soul—our mind, will, emotions, and reasoning coming into alignment with the Word of God. And He is the life through the power of the Holy Spirit, bringing genuine fulfillment and strength.
When we know the truth, we can begin to walk the way. We take the journey with Jesus, step by step. Then His life begins to flow through us. “No one comes to the Father except through Me.” We need to know the truth, follow the way, and receive the life He gives.
When You Feel Lost
Sometimes we look around and feel lost. Even in our Christian walk, we can feel like we are in a valley. We may ask, “Lord, how do I get out of this situation? How do I move forward from what I have walked into?” In those moments, we need to come back to the understanding that we can trust what God has placed within us.
There are times when I am in the middle of something and I simply say, “Lord, I do not know what is coming next, but I trust You. I trust the direction. I trust what You have spoken. Give me the strength to take the next step and the power not to give up on the journey You have called me to walk.”
Trust the Compass
When I am in the woods, I have to trust the GPS—or in my case, the compass. I have to trust what is north. If I came in from the north side, then following north will lead me back out. It may take time, but I will eventually reach the road again and find my way back to where I need to be.
That is what John 14:6 is for us. It is our compass in the right direction. Jesus says, “I am the way.” He is our journey. He is our path. He is our right thinking. He is the direction we can trust when everything around us feels uncertain.
Then He says, “I am the truth.” Truth keeps the compass steady. If we do not have the way, the truth, and the life intact through Jesus Christ Himself, we will lack direction. We may move, but we will not always move in the right direction. But when we allow His truth to guide us, we can walk with confidence.
Make Him Your Main Purpose
Make Jesus your main purpose, and every other purpose will begin to find its place. The right people will come around you. The right leadership will come around you. The right direction will become clearer as you keep following Him.
If you know Him, you know the way. You learn the journey by knowing Jesus. You begin to understand the course of conduct, the manner of life, the way of thinking, and the way of feeling that flows from Him. If you feel like you do not have purpose, follow the purpose of being the hands and feet of Jesus and the body of Christ. Just follow Him. Let the power of God flow into your life today. Let yourself be guided, fulfilled, and strengthened in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
