Do you know your God?

Do you know your God?
Do you know His will in your heart? Do you trust the Holy Spirit within you to speak on your behalf when needed? These things matter deeply.
God’s grace is evident even in our weakness. Just like the disciples who fell asleep while Jesus prayed, we too drift off when God asks us to partner with His will. How many times has He come back to you and whispered, “Why haven’t you done this yet? Wake up—there’s something I’ve prepared for you.” He’s interceding for nations, for people, for salvation, and He invites us to join Him.
Yet often, we’re spiritually asleep. Asleep in the church. Asleep in our communities. Asleep in our own families. We become passive because we forget there is a will—His will—that we are called to operate in.
When someone hands you land, you can’t just admire it… You must cultivate it. When God gives an opportunity, it must be worked on. Spiritual inheritance comes with spiritual responsibility. What’s willed to you must be stewarded if you’re going to walk in the fullness of God’s plan.
Sometimes we feel tired and want to give up. But we need to ask: Why am I really tired? There are weeks I work long days and late evenings, yet feel more refreshed than before—because I am doing His will. I’m more alive after an evening of ministry than after sitting at home watching a movie. There is rest in the work of God. There is strength in obedience.
God has already determined blessing over you. He has already called you a warrior. He has already named you His bride. The kingdom of Heaven is at hand—right now—and we must learn to work with what is at hand, not shrink back from it. The body of Christ has weakened in many areas simply because we’ve forgotten what His will truly means.
“Thy will be done.”
This means: What God has wished and determined shall come to pass. He has already laid out a path. He has determined the good works prepared for you. But whether you walk that path is still your choice. His will is established—but our participation is voluntary.
Yes, God is in control—but He was so in control that He gave us free will. Some say, “God is in control; God knows everything.” He does—but He doesn’t override your choices. He doesn’t cancel your decisions. He honors the will He placed in you.
It’s like a road carved through the mountains. Before the road existed, everyone had to climb the mountain themselves. But even after the road is finished, you still have to choose to get on it. You still have to decide to drive, pay for fuel, find a reliable vehicle, and take the journey. The promises of God still require participation.
You must choose how you respond to people along the way. You must choose honor, respect, and love. Walking God’s path is full of choices—daily, intentional choices.
We often say, “I don’t need to do anything; God knows all things and is in control.” But I don’t believe in fate—I believe in faith. What shows up in my life is the fruit of obedience.
It’s not about “because I said so.” It’s about a relationship. Because He loves us, He empowers us to obey. He draws us into His presence—and oh, how beautiful that presence is.
If you choose it.
