He's Looking for a Pure Heart

God’s Not Looking for Perfection—He's Looking for a Pure Heart

Jesus isn’t searching for perfect people. He’s looking for those with pure hearts.

There’s a big difference. Think about a young child. When they’re little, they don’t understand sin yet. They don’t have it all figured out. They knock over our stuff, empty our cupboards, and disobey without realizing the weight of their actions. They aren’t perfect—far from it—but their hearts are pure.

That’s the kind of heart God is after.

Jesus said, “Become like little children.” Why? Because childlike hearts trust, receive love freely, and come without pretense. He understands that we’re not perfect—but He calls us to return to the innocence and dependence of sons and daughters who know they are deeply loved.

God Sees the Heart—Not the Habit

Too often, we disqualify ourselves because of our struggles. We say, “I have this issue. I’m still dealing with that addiction. I can’t stop eating sweets. I can’t break this habit…”

But God isn’t focused on your external behavior the way you are. Look at David. God didn’t say, “I found a perfect man.” He said, “I found a man after My own heart.”

David made many mistakes, but his heart was always tender toward God. That’s what matters.

You’re not here because of your flawless record. You’re here because God saw your heart—and it drew Him to you. You’re still standing because there’s something good in you that He can use and purify. You are His.

When the Heart Is Pure, Everything Changes

When you allow God to purify your heart, you begin to see differently. You take off the blinders. You remove the filters of shame and guilt. And suddenly—you see the Holy Spirit move through you with purity and power.

That’s when the power of God begins to flow like never before.

This isn’t about salvation. This isn’t about whether or not you’re going to heaven. The real question is deeper: Are you lost in the household of faith?

Are you a child of God who can’t seem to find your way home? Are you feeling more like a slave than a son or daughter? Have you lost your position, your identity, your sense of belonging?

That’s the question that came to me this morning:

Are you lost?

Because if you are, there is good news—the Father is searching for you, not to punish you, but to restore your heart and bring you home.

It All Starts With the Heart

God is still saying today, “I’m looking for a heart. Not perfection. Just a heart.”

Let Him find yours.

Amen.
