What We Call Interruption, God Calls Invitation

“What We Call Interruption, God Calls Invitation.” How many of you have ever felt interrupted by God? I know I have. Those moments when you’re thinking, “Okay, God… really? Right now?” Yet so often, the very thing we felt we needed to do is interrupted because God is inviting us into something better. He says, “Do this. I’m inviting you.” That’s precisely what we see in Mary’s story—what looked like an interruption was actually a divine invitation.

Many times, our interruptions are God’s invitations. I want to encourage you to be aware of that in this season, and as we step into the next year. I believe we are moving into a year of reformation. God is always reforming, constantly realigning, but I sense that we are about to see this in a deeper, more visible way. We are already witnessing it—healing, churches rising up, hearts turning back to truth. People are beginning to see Jesus as He truly is, not as He has been misrepresented or distorted. This awakening has already begun, and I believe it will continue to grow.

One of my favorite moments in Scripture is when God says, “Take your shoes off, for the place where you stand is holy ground.” I love this story because I believe we are called to be the burning bush that never burns out. The same power that was present in that bush lives in us through the Holy Spirit. What appeared to be an interruption for Moses became a blessing and a divine commissioning.

Think about Jonah and the fish—what an interruption that was. A slimy one at that. Three days in the dark, in the mess, in the waiting. Only by the grace of God did Jonah survive. That interruption became the point at which a decision had to be made. Sometimes God allows us to sit in the “slime” long enough to choose obedience. But today is the day to get out of the slime and make the decision. Don’t let yourself be swallowed up by delay or resistance.

Jesus says in John 10:9, “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.” We are called to stay in His presence—going in—and then go out to bring others into the doorway. In and out. In His presence, then out into the world. More people need to know about Jesus now more than ever before.

During this season, especially with all the arguments and debates surrounding Christmas, we need to pause. Serve Jesus according to your conviction, but stop arguing the point. Let people encounter Jesus. Let Him be alive in us and through us. This season is not about winning debates; it’s about revealing Christ.

Some of us may have fallen asleep, but this is the season to wake up. It’s time to say, “Lord, I choose to follow Jesus again—right here, right now.” And when you follow Jesus, you represent Him. Jesus was about compassion. He was about restoring people and bringing them back into the Kingdom of God. That same invitation is being extended to us today.
