The Wrestle Is Real: Standing in the Day of Battle

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”— Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV)

Let’s be real—the battle is real. The wrestle is real. The fight is not imaginary or symbolic. It’s not against people, but against unseen rulers, spiritual powers, and demonic structures influencing this present world.

But here's the tension: while the battle is real, not all the ways we deal with it are real or biblical. That’s why we need truth, strategy, and Scripture, not just zeal or emotion.

Be Strong in the Lord

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.”— Ephesians 6:10

This is not about our strength but His strength. The word “power” here refers to dominion, ruling strength, divine might. “Might” in Greek speaks of ability, force, and capacity. God is not asking us to fight with empty hands—He's equipping us with His might.

We are commanded to:

“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”— Ephesians 6:11

Standing doesn’t mean passively waiting. It means being established, rooted, immovable in truth and power during evil days—because yes, evil days are still here. The battle is active, but so is our defense.

We Don’t Cast Principalities Like Demons

There’s a distinction many miss: we don’t cast out principalities the same way we cast out demons from individuals. Principalities operate on a territorial and structural level. We deal with them through resistance, prayer, and strategic warfare, not just shouting them down.

Jesus never promised a struggle-free walk. In fact, He said:

“In the world you will have trouble, but take heart; I have overcome the world.”— John 16:33

Why? Because this realm—this world—is still under influence until Revelation 20, when Jesus fully disarms and judges the enemy once and for all.

Until then, we must learn to function in the principality God has given us: The Kingdom of God. That’s the only way to overrule and overcome the kingdom of darkness around us.

Disarming Darkness by Walking in Authority

Our goal is to disarm spiritual enemies where God's people walk—that’s what authority is. When the Church functions in true Kingdom authority, those dark powers lose structure and influence in our territories.

That’s why we equip each other. I come alongside you, and you come alongside me, so the enemy loses his foothold in our communities and ministries.

We have to stop allowing the wrong principalities to merge with earthly systems. Our call is to live “on Earth as it is in Heaven.” That means discernment, boldness, and alignment with the Word—not just tradition or personal opinion.

Be Scripturally Minded, Not Just Spiritually Noisy

It’s time to wake up. Just because something sounds spiritual or sounds right, doesn’t make it right. Even when I preach—test it with the Word. If I’m wrong, fine. But the Scripture is never wrong.

Experience without Scripture is just that—experience. It doesn’t have eternal authority unless it aligns with the Word. Your testimony needs to be scripturally grounded, not just emotionally driven.

Stand—Be Established

After Paul describes the hierarchy of evil, he doesn’t say, “Go cast it all out.” He says, “Stand.”

That word stand literally means: be established.

Why? Because you need to be unshaken when the battle shows up. Not everything is removed immediately. Until Revelation 20 comes, we are still in the middle of the fight. But if we stand firm, walk in truth, and fight darkness in our sphere of authority, we will see strongholds crumble and principalities weaken.

Final Thoughts

This is not about volume or emotion. Just because someone sounds passionate or has a big following doesn’t mean their message is correct. Don’t "amen" something just because it sounds good. Be watchful, be scriptural, and be alert.

The wrestle is real. But we are not wrestling alone. And in Christ, we already have the victory—now we must stand in it.
