Let’s Stop Living Like Orphans

This world will always bring chaos—but His love will always bring calm in the storm.

Jesus said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.” (John 10:7, KJV: “Verily, verily…”). That word door is powerful. It’s a picture—a metaphor—of access, of safety, of belonging.

In those days, the sheep would go out into the pasture during the day, grazing and moving about. But when night came—when darkness, danger, and uncertainty approached—they needed a place to return. A place of covering. A place of rest. A place where they could be gathered again. Jesus says, I am that door.

There is always a gathering in His heart. Always a drawing back in. This reflects His priestly nature—He gathers His people, restores them, and brings them into safety. And we are those sheep.

Whether we like the comparison or not, it’s true. Without Him, we are often fearful. We hesitate. We freeze. We don’t always know what to say or how to step forward. Like sheep startled in a field, we can become stiff, uncertain, and overwhelmed. But something changes when we understand the Door.

What keeps the sheep safe isn’t their strength—it’s the doorway. The one who stands at the entrance. The one who watches, guards, and invites them in. Jesus is that place for us.

He is not just the door to salvation—He is the door for every moment of your life. Every decision. Every fear. Every step forward. When we ask, “How do I find the way?”—He answers:“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

So the invitation is simple: Come to the Door. Find the “I AM” in your present moment.Right now. Today. Everything connects back to Him. And here’s the deeper mystery—when we live in Him long enough, we don’t just enter through the Door… we begin to reflect Him. We become doorways.

We become vessels through which others encounter His presence. We carry His love, His truth, His peace. We become a place where others can find hope, direction, and rest. Not in ourselves—but through Him in us. We are part of His body, revealing His Kingdom on the earth.

So let’s stop living like orphans—wandering, striving, and trying to survive on our own. You have a place. You have a covering. You have a Door.

And His love will always bring calm, even in the middle of the storm.
